"Chateau de la Vaudouriere" is a delicious , beautifully restored 17-19th century chateau set in over ten acres of parkland and woods with glass-enclosed ,private swimming pool and a regulation tennis court accommodating 12 or more persons.  The home was formerly owned by the grandfather of the famous 19th century French writer, Alfred Musset.  The chateau has 6+ Bedrooms, 4 ½ Baths accommodating 12 adults and 1 or 2 babies. There are two cottages on the estate which are also available for rent with the chateau if you need more space., one with 2 Bedrooms 1 Bath, and one with 1 Bedroom and  1 Bath.. The property is just 40 minutes from Blois and Tours, 1 hour from Chartres and Chambord and there is rapid train service (TGV) to Gare Montparnasse, Paris, at Vendome 13 kms away.  The surrounding countryside is filled with picturesque villages and many charming restaurants within 15-20 minutes drive. Fresh breads can be purchased at a neighboring farm within walking distance of the chateau. There are plenty of amenities including a grand piano, stereo system, garden furniture for outdoor dining, barbecue, croquet set, ping pong, some bicycles, TV,  fax, washing machine and dryer. A resident couple managing the estate live in a gate house at the entrance to the property.Housekeeping service is included 25 hours a week. Cook and/or babysitting on prior arrangement.
