Magnificent castle built in the Middle Ages in defense of the town of Gubbio against Perugia. The castle has been fully restored offering a comfortable, modernized backdrop for a special Umbrian holiday. It is surrounded by a huge park with century old trees, large lawns and a beautiful swimming pool (24x45 ft) with wonderful views and sign-posted walking paths. The owners of the estate are descendants of the Napoleon Bonaparte family. The property comprises two buildings...the main castle which sleeps 14 and the adjoining guest house for 16.

Distances: The local village of Carbonesca (markets, trattorias)  is just 5 minutes' drive and the famed towns of Gubbio, Perugia, Citta di Castello , Todi, Assisi and others are within easy drive. Trains for Florence and Rome from Fossata di Vico -about 15 miles away.

Amenities: stereo, satellite TV, fax/phone (incoming only), BBQ, DVD. ADSL Internet access, billiards, pool side changing room and shower, pool side sun beds, parasols and pool towels.

Maid Service: Two daily maids and a cook (for dinner) are provided daily ,except Sunday.

The house has been completely restored and offers contemporary comfort and marvelous views.
The surrounding fenced-in garden is immaculately kept and contains an outdoor breakfast table, patio dining area and private swimming pool measuring 15 x 33 ft.
