beyond the tall gates, leads into the well kept gardens . It was once the home of two philanthropic brothers who for many years invited the main representatives of the Italian impressionist movement to spend their summers to enjoy the villa life and to paint the wonderful countryside. The villa, now modernized, has foundations dating back to the 17th century. It is very comfortably and tastefully furnished, providing a wonderful, refreshing backdrop for a visit to Tuscany and the nearby Mediterranean seaside.
The Seaside: There are sandy beaches approximately 15 minutes drive to the Tuscan coast at Viareggio and the fashionable Forte dei Marmi where the beaches are broad and sandy and cafes and restaurants abound, including designer shopping, lively bars and a special ambiance. Changing cabins can be rented by the day or week at the beach with umbrellas and chairs.
The Surrounding Area:
The charming village of Fauglia is just 4.5 kilometers away where you will find markets , banks and shops.
Closer is a small trattoria within a few minutes drive. Shops in Fauglia open on Saturday until 7pm and a large supermarket is in the area. Pisa and Livorno are within 20 minutes drive, Volterra and San Gimignano 45 minutes, Siena 1 hour, Lucca 45 minutes, Florence 50 minutes. Tennis 8kms, Riding 1 km
Airports and Transport
Pisa airport (serviced directly from NY by Delta on certain days ).Florence airport 80 kms. Rome airport: 3 ½ hours. Pisa train station has connections to Florence and Rome and other cities

The Pool: ( 33 x23.5 ft) with pool furniture , pool towels and dining table for 12.. The pool area is gated for children . By the pool is a changing room and an outdoor after swim shower.

STAFF: Part time Maid service is provided Monday-Saturday. The very welcoming caretaker couple live in a wing of the villa with independent entrance. Laura, the wife, is generally available for cooking Tuscan meals. Lunches can be prepared on the moment. Dinners are prepared during the day for you to warm up at your leisure. She can do the marketing for you and then set the table but does not serve.
RENTAL INCLUDES: Maid service, linen provision, basic supplied, welcome provisions.
EXTRA SERVICE AT TENANTS' COST: Arrival provisions, baby equipment, extra maid
or cook service, baby sitting (Italian), any heating.
